Track type
Linear track: If the shading area is a regular rectangle or square and does not require complex shape coverage, a linear track is a more suitable choice. For example, when installed on a regular balcony or regular terrace, a straight track can smoothly extend and retract the sunshade canopy in a straight direction, making installation simple and relatively low-cost.
Curved track: When the area that needs to be covered is circular, semi-circular, or curved space, such as curved balconies, circular courtyard rest areas, etc., curved tracks can play an advantage. It can make the sunshade canopy fit the curved space, achieving a more perfect sunshade effect. However, the production process of curved tracks is relatively complex, and the price may be higher than that of straight tracks.
Dual track or multi track system: For scenarios with multiple shading requirements, such as wanting to install both shading cloth and insect screen, or requiring layered shading, a dual track or multi track system can be chosen. This allows for the installation of different shading materials on different tracks, enabling flexible switching between shading and ventilation functions.
Track material
Aluminum alloy track: Aluminum alloy material has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, and corrosion resistance. It can withstand the weight of a sunshade canopy and is not easily rusted in outdoor environments. The appearance of this material's track is quite beautiful, usually available in multiple colors to match the building's exterior or home decor. For example, installing an electric sunshade canopy in a seaside vacation home, aluminum alloy tracks can effectively resist the erosion of sea breeze.
Stainless steel track: Stainless steel track has higher strength and strong corrosion resistance. It is suitable for large sunshade canopies that require high track strength or for installation in harsh environments. For example, installing a sunshade canopy on the skylight of an industrial plant, stainless steel tracks can better withstand the weight and frequent use of large areas of sunshade cloth.
Plastic tracks: Plastic tracks are relatively light and inexpensive. But its strength and durability are average, mainly suitable for small and lightweight sunshade canopies, such as sunshade for small indoor windows. If used outdoors, it may experience aging, deformation, and other issues due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain.
Track size and load-bearing capacity
Choose the appropriate track size based on the size and weight of the sunshade canopy. Larger sunshade cloths require wider and thicker tracks to ensure their stability during operation. The carrying capacity of the track should be greater than the actual weight of the sunshade canopy, and a certain safety margin should be reserved. Generally speaking, manufacturers will indicate the bearing range of the track in the product manual, which needs to be carefully read and selected according to the requirements. For example, if the weight of the sunshade canopy is 50 kilograms, a track with a carrying capacity of at least 60-70 kilograms should be selected.
Smoothness and accuracy of the track
The smoothness of the track directly affects the smoothness of the opening and closing of the sunshade canopy. A well-designed internal structure of a good track with low friction between running components allows for easy extension and retraction of the sunshade canopy. The accuracy of the track is also very important. After installation, it is necessary to ensure that the straightness or curvature of the track meets the design requirements, so as to avoid phenomena such as lagging and deviation from the track during the operation of the sunshade canopy. When selecting a track, you can check the actual operation of the sample or refer to other users' evaluations to determine the smoothness and accuracy of the track.
Compatibility with motors and control systems
The track needs to be matched with the motor and control system of the electric sunshade canopy. Different brands and models of motors may have specific requirements for the track, such as the driving mode and speed control of the motor, which may require specific track structures to achieve. When purchasing tracks, it is necessary to confirm with the manufacturer whether they are compatible with the selected motor and control system to ensure that the entire sunshade system can operate normally.
